If you can't make it to the park you're in for a treat because apparently Ted Leitner and Jerry Coleman will be calling a game together for the first time this season.  Their broadcast will be simulcast on Fox as well.  Hopefully Ted will ask Jerry what he did today.  Let us know. The Padres will eventually win again, today seems like as good a day as any to make that happen. Go Padres! At times the Padres look like they're pressing and as Tony Gwynn says you can't play baseball with a tight booty. Other times they just look flat, like a day old soda.  Either way, here we are riding a wave of suck in a 9 game losing streak.  Nothing left to do, but root for the Dodgers and wait for tomorrow. But I think we’re almost waiting for it to happen rather than making it happen. We’re on our heels. I’ve been on teams in playoff races before where you’d have someone in your face if this were happening. Padres now 0-9 without Jerry Hairston Jr. - SignOnSanDiego.comWe miss Jerry in a number of ways, said Black. But our strength is the collective contributions of everyone. Hopefully, Jerry will come back. Everyone's to blame for Padres slump - SignOnSanDiego.comThe Padres are not a troubled team. They’re just in trouble. Missed chances lead to ninth straight loss | padres.com: NewsSan Diego saw its season-high losing skid extend to nine games after dropping a 6-2 decision to Colorado on Saturday. Padres tweak rotation for Dodgers series | padres.com: NewsThe Padres haven't needed to tinker too much with their starting rotation this season, though they'll make a change for their upcoming series starting on Monday against the Dodgers. Two Hundleys ready for game day | padres.com: NewsThe first Saturday of the college football season had Padres catcher Nick Hundley a little more fired up than usual, as his father, Tim, starts his second season as an assistant coach at UCLA. Clark's clutch homer completes cycle | MiLB.com News | The Official Site of Minor League BaseballMatt Clark homered in the 10th inning Saturday to complete the cycle and give San Antonio a 7-6 victory over Corpus Christi. PADRES NOTES: Struggling LeBlanc will miss turn in rotationIt was Mat's fifth day, and we wanted to give Kevin a little breather, Black said. And we felt it was in Wade's best interest to maybe skip a start. PADRES: Offense dormant again in ninth straight lossIt just seems like we're playing on our heels, starting pitcher Jon Garland (13-10) said. It honestly seems like we're going out not to lose -- not to lose the division -- instead of going out to win and win the division. Right now we've hit a bad spell, and it plays tricks on your mind. PADRES NOTES: Young cleared for second rehab startOnce I took the mound I was worried about competing. I wasn't worried about my shoulder or about anything else. I was worrying about throwing strikes and getting guys out. The competitiveness took over. insidethepadres: Still in itIn this division, teams have (a) certain team's number, said Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who wears No. 2. That's just how things fall sometimes. Take nothing away from (the Padres). That's a great team. They are in first place for a reason. Nine Thoughts for Nine Losses – DucksnortsLosing nine straight down the stretch stinks. There is no other way to put it. What's a Picture Worth?: Manager of the Year? The reason...he has a great attitude. He's positive, encouraging and a likable guy...but when he has to be he can lay down the law. The key is he knows how to walk that tight rope. Padres Trail: Nine StraightThis is the franchise's longest losing streak since losing 9 straight in 2003 (May 14-23). The last time they lost 10 straight, it didn't stop until they'd lost 14 in a row (May 8-21, 1994). THE KEPT FAITH: If it's Yellow let it MellowSo my question for the Padres is why not find a compromise between the brown and yellow of the 1970’s and now?

San Diego Padres Fan Confidence Poll: 9/6/2010 04:48:51 pm , 09-07-2010 More photos » Denis Poroy - AP Oh BTW... CLOTHESLINE, BITCH! Hahahahahahaha (AP Photo/Denis Poroy) Browse more photos » I don't want to sway your confidence at all, but if I were at the game today, I probably would've booed other Padres fans who I didn't think were booing loud enough. Like, I would've been over booing the Padres and the umpires and the other team and I would've moved onto Padres fans who weren't supporting my cause. Actually, booing Padres fans who weren't booing loud enough would've been on the low end of the scale. More on the high end of the scale would've been trying to urinate onto the field of play. The field of play reminds me of a toilet and the players remind me of turds. I'm glad that they got Miguel Tejada though. At least somebody on the Padres was trying to play baseball at the baseball game today. The rules are simple. On a scale of 0 to 10, 0 being no confidence at all, 10 being absolute confidence, How confident are you in the San Diego Padres organization? All attempts to spark the offense and find a combination of hot bats recently has failed. Maybe... 04:48:50 pm , 09-07-2010 All attempts to spark the offense and find a combination of hot bats recently has failed. Maybe it?s time to simply go for the best defensive team they can field to support the pitching staff. Try to win the game 1-0, or 2-1. Keep as many runs off the board as you can, and fight, scratch, bunt, and steal whatever few runs you can manufacture because any attempts to slug right now are not working. HeyScan.com - San Diego Padres are in the midst of a 10 game losing streak which is a perilous plunge.

Padres beat Dodgers 4-2, everybody forgets about losing streak 04:48:47 pm , 09-07-2010 More photos » Denis Poroy - AP Mike Adams is a pimp. Browse more photos » Last night I was all settled in for a lazy Labor Night, but as game time approached I was getting too nervous.  I needed to be around other Padres fans.  I needed to be among my people.  So just as the game was starting I rounded up a friend and we made a last minute mad dash to the ballpark.  We got there about 3 minutes before Nick Hundley's home run in the third. There was a feeling of confidence in the ballpark that didn't exist on my couch. Over the last week the Padres were like Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom, when he is forced to drink the blood of Kali Ma. They weren't themselves.  We the fans were Willie Scott in chains and the Padres were trying to rip our hearts out of our chests with their bare hands to show it to us before we were lowered into molten lava.  Last night the fans were Short Round.  Sure Indy backhanded us across the face, but we took the torch and burned the hell out of him to awaken him from his evil ways.  I feel like the Padres were awakened last night from a deep dark slumber. My favorite moment of the game was Mike Adams fielding a ball hit behind his back and then throwing the runner out from a seated position on his tight little ass. Or maybe it was Adrian Gonzalez laying down a bunt to beat the shift. Or Pad Squad Andre telling me to get a hair cut. Or maybe it was the guy teasing the fireworks the entire game on the PA system.  He had a super creepy voice.  I'm not a guy that likes to watch fireworks except on July 4th, but he made it sound like people might be seriously injured or mortally wounded during the fireworks display so I stuck around.  It was pretty good and they even showed a video montage that featured Gaslamp Baller matthewverygood and his Yoda backpack. Good win.  It feels good to have that losing streak off our backs. Winning is delightful.
