I asked UCLA RB Kahlil Bell about facing what might be one of the best college defenses ever, and Bell said that the Trojans have looked very good on film but that UCLA was ready to put up a fight against the unit and would have to play a near-perfect game this weekend to win.
"I don't know about the history, but I know since I've been in college, I've been hard-pressed to see a defense that has this many players on it," Bell said. "They are stacked across the board. THey are a very good team, aggressive, fundamentally sound, tackle well, hit hard. We're going to have to do a lot of different things. We have to play our best game, plain and simple, in every aspect.
"If we listened to listened to you guys, and newspapers, and magazines and Vegas, we wouldn't even show up. We'd just lose by 30 points. When that whistle blows, we're going to take our punches and give them a fight, because that's what it's about."
