Matthew Pilgrim, a forward who has left the basketball program at Hampton, visited the University of Kentucky campus today and is looking at Kentucky as a possible destination.
James Pilgrim, the player's father, said tonight that his son has been in Lexington, Ky., today. He confirmed that Matthew Pilgrim is looking at Kentucky as a transfer option, but declined to comment on where his son stands in the process, or whether UK has extended a scholarship offer.
"You'd have to talk to him about that," James Pilgrim said.
Matthew Pilgrim, a Cincinnati native, played in 26 games this last season at Hampton, averaging 7.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore. The 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward averaged 11 points and and 5.3 points per game as a freshman after missing the first nine games of the season with a broken foot.
Pilgrim was a standout player at Withrow High School in Cincinnati before finishing his prep career at Bridgton Academy...
