The Sixers got a big victory over the Atlanta Hawks who are one spot ahead of them in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Sixers were able to defend their home court and leave with a 105-100 win. Hot shooting by the Sixers was the key and they shot an impressive 48.8% from the field. What was more impressive is the Sixers going 10-18 from three, shooting 55.6% from beyond. The deep bomber was Jodie Meeks who hit 5-6 threes to score 15 points. Lou Williams added 17 points off the bench. Thaddeus Young scored 16 points off the bench. The tandem of Williams and Young off the bench has been good all season.
For the Hawks, Josh Smith was a powerful presence scoring 33 points and getting 12 rebounds to notch a strong double double. Kirk Hinrich and Marvin Williams each added 16 points. Next for the Sixers will be a big road test as the Miami Heat is the next...
