The Carolina Panthers re-sign OLB/DE Antwan Applewhite

The Panthers have re-signed 26-year old OLB/DE Antwan Applewhite.  He played in 12 games for the Panthers last year and he had 25 tackles, 2 sack, 1 forced fumble and 1 pass defensed.  Applewhite has now played in 42 games in his first three years in the NFL and he has 93 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 5 tackles for a loss, 3 forced fumbles and 3 passes defensed.  This was a good move for the Panthers as Applewhite is a solid defensive player with the second unit.
